Sammis Law Firm was founded in 2008 by Jason Sammis and Leslie Sammis. For the past 15 years, our main office has been located at 1005 N. Marion Street in downtown Tampa.
Over the years, the firm has grown to six (6) attorneys, four paralegals, and an intake coordinator. We have additional offices in Clearwater, in Pinellas County, and New Port Richey, in Pasco County.
We are often contacted by attorneys in other states who want to refer us a civil asset forfeiture case or work together on the case. We help clients recover all kinds of assets, with an emphasis on recovering cryptocurrency.

Jason D. Sammis is a shareholder with the Sammis Law Firm in Tampa, Florida. A large part of Jason’s practice is focused on representing clients in criminal and civil asset forfeiture proceedings in state or federal court.
Jason is admitted to the state bars of Florida and Georgia, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, the United States District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida, and the United States Circuit Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits.
After receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Jason obtained his Juris Doctorate at the University of Florida College of Law in Gainesville, Florida, in 1999. While at the University of Florida College of Law, Jason D. Sammis was a member of the prestigious Florida Law Review. Jason was also elected the Vice-Chair and then Chair of the Justice Campbell Thornal Moot Court Board.
Active in the legal community, Jason is a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association, the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (FACDL), the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), and the NORML Legal Committee.
Since founding Sammis Law Firm, his practice has been focused exclusively on criminal defense and civil asset forfeiture, with an emphasis on recovering seized cryptocurrency.

Leslie M. Sammis is an attorney at Sammis Law Firm in Tampa, FL. Her practice is focused on criminal and civil asset forfeiture cases in state and federal courts. She has represented clients at trial, evidentiary motion hearings, and appeals in civil asset forfeiture proceedings.
Active in the legal community, Leslie is a lifetime member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (FACDL) and the affiliate organization in Hillsborough County, FL. Leslie is admitted to practice law in the State of Florida and Georgia, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and various U.S. District Courts throughout Florida and Georgia.
She obtained her undergraduate degree at the University of Oklahoma in 1996. She graduated from law school at the University of Florida College of Law, Gainesville, Florida, with Honors in 1999.
Along with her husband, she co-founded Sammis Law Firm in 2008. Her practice is focused on criminal defense and civil asset forfeiture, with an emphasis on recovering seized cryptocurrency.
